The Dark Tower – Official Trailer 1

Mid-World and the journey to The Dark Tower awaits…

For me, it has only been 10 years since I first discovered The Dark Tower saga, and the infamous opening line of…

“The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.”

…that has forever since; been ingrained in my imagination.

But, for many Dark Tower junkies out there, it has been almost 40 years since the first of Sai King’s ka-tet will have followed Gilead’s last Gunslinger; Roland Deschain, on his quest for the Dark Tower.

The Dark Tower - Man in Black

The first steps into the epic journey of Stephen King’s magnum opus began in 1978, with a short story appearing in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, and the first full-novel; simply titled The Gunslinger hitting bookshelves in 1982. King published his last entry into the saga in 2012; expanding the story to over 4,000 words, and since then the long-gestating movie adaptation – with over a decade in development Discordia – finally picked up the pace again and entered production.

Anyway, I won’t prattle on any longer.

Check out the trailer. Enjoy!

I’ve got to be honest, finally hearing Idris Elba quote the ‘Gunslingers’ Creed’ gave me chills. So cool.

“I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I aim with my eye.

I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I shoot with my mind.

I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father. I kill with my heart.”

Are you a Dark Tower junkie? Have you read Stephen King’s other works, but never explored Mid-World and the lore surrounding the Tower? Or, are you completely new to the series?
