Knife to meet you… Karen Strode
The wonderful Judy Greer is rumoured to be in-talks to star in the upcoming Halloween sequel/reboot; as non-other than Laurie‘s daughter; Karen Strode.
Hot off the heels that Jamie Lee Curtis will reprise her role as the original damsel-in-distress; Laurie Strode, it appears the next Halloween film is on a pre-production rampage!
Although negotiations with filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride have only just begun, my confidence in the belated sequel is getting stronger.
Jamie Lee Curtis is back. John Carpenter is on-board as Executive Producer. Die-hard fans; Green (Director, Co-Writer) and McBride (Co-Writer) are bringing the film to life. And now, Judy Greer is likely to be joining too… EPIC!
In the Family
I know what you’re thinking, “Laurie‘s daughter” you say?? But she had a son!
Yes, that’s true, Josh Hartnett starred as Laurie‘s son; John Strode, in 1998s Halloween: H20.
But, Danny McBride previously confirmed that this next instalment would follow-on from the first two movies, ignoring the sequels that followed – including H20. Check out our previous Halloween news.
As fans of the series will already know, Michael Myers is brother to Laurie Strode. So it looks like Uncle Michael will be coming home once again; for another stab at family life – sorry.
Greer the Great
Judy Greer has recently starred in War for the Planet of the Apes, and will soon be returning as Maggie Lang in Marvel‘s minuscule sequel; Ant-Man and the Wasp.
You may also recognise her as the mum from 2015s Jurassic World, as well as the naughty Dr. Elizabeth Plimpton from season 3; episode 21, of The Big Bang Theory.
Carving a new path following the events of the first two films, the next instalment in the Halloween franchise will hit cinemas 19th October 2018.
What do you think of Judy Greer as a potential candidate to take over from Jamie Lee Curtis, carrying the pumpkin-encased candle, so-to-speak?
