Avengers: Infinity War – Trailer Breakdown
Posted on 29th November, 2017 - By Daniel Hezzlewood
Well folks, the new trailer for the long awaited Avengers: Infinity War dropped today, and boy am I hyped! With Thanos involved, – and doing something more than just sitting in his big ass space throne – it really looks as though the team has finally met it’s match.
I wonder if anyone of our beloved Avengers will bite the dust this time, or will it be a rainbow filled happy ending?
There’s a lot to talk about in this trailer, so let’s watch it before we get started.
A Group of Remarkable People…
So straight away, the first two characters we see are Tony Stark, looking damaged and upset… Perhaps over the body of a fallen partner? And his best buddy, Bruce Banner, looking like he’s just fallen through a roof. Stark is dirty, sweaty and obviously hurting.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s struggling with a difficult decision he’s just had to, or is about to make. And Banner, well he’s always shirtless and in a pile of rubble somewhere.
Next up, we have Dr. Steven Strange and his friend, Wong. Wong is conjuring mystic shields and Strange is looking rather confused.
If you look at the huge Hulk sized hole in the rooftop, and then look again at the screenshot of Banner, it’s clear that he’s dropped in on these mystic protectors.
This might even be the first time he’s been on Earth in years. As last we saw, he was journeying back to us with the God of Thunder himself – Thor, after spending around two years as the Hulk on Sakaar.
Then we’re shown Vision and Scarlet Witch, who’re clearly taking their relationship to another level. What’s most interesting here, though, is seeing Vision appearing Human… Well, almost. If it weren’t for the Infinity Stone embedded in his forehead.
The next thing that peaked my interest, was seeing Banner inspecting, or working on a huge Hulk Buster arm.
Is this to ensure Stark has a way of protecting the people against the Hulk, if he were to lose control again? Or is this in preparation of encountering a new enemy?
In Time, You Will Know What It’s Like To Lose…
So here we see the inside of Strange‘s awesome Relic filled mansion, and the huge Hulk sized hole in his staircase.
Along with four of our awesome heroes, all facing the front door. Stark heads outside, presumably to see what all the commotion is, and the others follow.
Outside, there’s quite a mess, lot’s of rubble and we have these four heroes looking up in shock and fear.
I imagine they’re looking up at this beast. What do you think it’s purpose is? Does it hold an army of cannon fodder for the Avengers? Or is it something more ominous?
After all, Peter seems to think it’s something serious.
Also, how awesome does Spidey‘s new suit look? I can’t wait to see what this new suit can do and what new skills Peter has.
**On a side note, I’m hoping to see a lot of content from all the Spiderman movies end up in the video game that’s due to release in 2018.
Loki & the Tesseract… Again.
In this scene, Loki walks over the dead bodies of several people, and then presents the Tesseract. Now I’m not sure about you, but does it look like he’s offering it up to someone?
He isn’t looking at it, even though he’s been obsessed with it at previous points in his journey. Does that mean he’ll be giving it over to Thanos in hopes of being spared?
Tut tut, Loki. You should know better. Will he ever learn that betrayal isn’t something that ever gets rewarded?
Dread it… Run From It…
I think it’s pretty safe to say that Thanos makes one hell of an entrance. I mean, yes, he’s big, purple and has a glove fetish… but somehow, he still manages to look completely menacing. He’s the embodiment of death and is so much more than another typical villain.
So let’s hope they do his character some justice, and make him a true force to be reckoned with.
Thanos will no doubt prove to be a fearsome and formidable opponent, but let’s be honest… The Avengers are going to win, right? After all, they’re the “good guys” and that’s usually how these things end.
If I’m being honest, though, I’m kinda hoping for a much darker ending. I think that would really hit the spot for once.
However, good guys or not, we’re only one trailer in and Thanos has already gotten two of the Infinity Stones. So our beloved Avengers aren’t doing a good job so far.
So at this point, Thanos has managed to obtain two Infinity Stones, but is he about to take the Mind Stone? And if so, will that destroy Vision?
And Get This Man A Shield…
That’s right, Cap is back and straight into the action, with his best friend, Bucky Barnes. Now that’s a duo you wouldn’t want to cross. Especially when they’re backed up by an army of Wakandan Warriors…
In this next shot, we have good few heroes, including War Machine and Falcon… For some reason. For me, they’re the most useless and annoying characters in the entire MCU.
In fact, I’d go so far as to say I’m more interested in why Black Widow changed her hair colour… Which is also pretty bad.
Lastly, at the end of the trailer, we finally get The Guardians of the Galaxy joining the Avengers in the fight for Earth.
What did you think of the new trailer for Avengers: Infinity War? Which character(s) if any, do you think they’ll kill off?
Worryingly, there’s an awful lot shown in this trailer. Given that it’s only the first trailer, and with most Marvel movies, we often see about three, maybe four of them – do you think they’ve already shown too much?
